A daily word game is a short word race in which everyone solves the same puzzle, refreshed once a day, under the same conditions. In KeliMax's Daily Challenge, everyone playing in the same language that day gets the same 7 letters, and you have 90 seconds to find as many words as you can with them. You get one try per day, and your score goes on the day's leaderboard.

What is a daily word game, and why play every day?

Even on days when there's no time for a long board match, finding a minute and a half is easy. That is what makes daily word puzzles such a popular habit: they are quick, new every day, and because everyone solves the same puzzle, comparing results actually means something. Checking today's word count against yesterday's is also a simple way to see your vocabulary grow.

In KeliMax this race is called the Daily Challenge, and its format is the Word Wheel. Instead of the classic 15×15 board, seven letters sit on a circle and you build words by swiping your finger across them. There's no waiting for an opponent's move as in the board game; for ninety seconds it is just you and the letters.

If you have a daily-puzzle habit like Wordle, here is the difference: in Wordle you try to guess one hidden word; in the Daily Challenge everyone gets the same 7 letters and you build as many words as you can from them in 90 seconds. It is a word-building race, not a guessing game.

Daily Challenge rules

  • Everyone playing in the same language that day gets the same 7 letters. The letters sit equally on the wheel; there is no required centre letter.
  • You have 90 seconds. Your score is submitted when time runs out or when you finish the game yourself.
  • Words must be 3 to 7 letters long, and each letter can be used once per word. The same word doesn't count twice.
  • You get one try per day. Your try is used the moment you tap Start; closing and reopening the app does not give you another.
  • English and Turkish are separate puzzles, so you get one try a day in each language.
  • There are no extra tries, extra time or helpers; everyone plays on equal terms. Shuffling the letters is free and unlimited and gives no scoring advantage.

Scoring: why longer words are worth more

The Daily Challenge has no letter values or premium squares; a word's score depends only on its length:

  • 3-letter word: 1 point
  • 4-letter word: 3 points
  • 5-letter word: 5 points
  • 6-letter word: 8 points
  • 7-letter word: 15 points

So a single word that uses all seven letters scores as much as fifteen three-letter words. Short words get your score going; long words decide the leaderboard. At the end of the game you earn up to three stars based on your score. Board matches score differently; for letter values and multipliers, see: How is scoring calculated?

How to play, step by step

  1. Open KeliMax and tap the Daily Challenge card in the Quests section.
  2. Check the rules and the day's leaderboard; when you're ready, tap Start. The clock begins right away.
  3. Drag your finger across the letters on the wheel to build a word; when you lift your finger the word is checked and, if valid, its points are added.
  4. When you get stuck, shuffle the letters; a new layout helps you spot words you missed.
  5. When the 90 seconds are up, your score is submitted and you see your stars, what you earned and your place on the day's leaderboard.
  6. Come back the next day for new letters.

Tips for finding more words in 90 seconds

Ninety seconds is short, but it's plenty for an eye that works methodically. Searching with a method rather than at random means fewer missed words. These habits lift your score quickly:

  • Grab the short words you spot in the first few seconds, then focus on long ones: a single 6- or 7-letter word is worth more than several short ones.
  • Think in endings. In English, endings such as -s, -ed, -er and -ing turn one root into several words; once you find a root, try its longer forms.
  • Start from the vowels. Words are built from syllables; arranging consonants around each vowel beats staring at a jumble of letters.
  • Rearrange the letters of a word you've found: if you have "eat", then "tea" and "ate" come from the same letters. One word is often the key to another.
  • Shuffle instead of waiting when you're stuck. A new arrangement breaks the pattern your brain has settled into and makes fresh words visible.

Daily leaderboard and rewards

Throughout the day, scores gather on the Today's Leaders list, and when your game ends you see your place and how many players took part. If you finish in the top three on a given day, you collect a bonus reward the next day when you open the Daily Challenge screen.

Completing the Daily Challenge also counts towards one of the app's daily quests. So a ninety-second race earns you a place on the leaderboard and progress on your daily quests at the same time.

Does the Daily Challenge need internet?

Yes. The day's letters are set once a day for each language and stay the same all day; because the letters and the leaderboard come from the server, the Daily Challenge needs a connection. If you want to play word games while offline, KeliMax has offline games too: Offline word game: modes you can play on the road or on a plane

Frequently asked questions

How many times a day can I play the Daily Challenge?

Once a day in each language. The English and Turkish puzzles are separate, and the day's try is used the moment you tap Start.

Does everyone get the same letters?

Yes. Everyone playing in the same language that day gets the same 7 letters, so you can compare your score with the day's leaderboard and with your own score from yesterday.

Can I play a day I missed later?

No. New letters arrive every day and only that day's puzzle can be played. If you miss a day, try your luck with the next day's puzzle.

Does the Daily Challenge cost anything?

No. KeliMax is free to download and offers optional in-app purchases. Extra tries or extra time are not sold in the Daily Challenge; everyone plays on the same terms.
