Word Battle Game: 1v1 Duels and Club Wars
A word battle game is a competitive word game where two players, or two teams, race for points by building words on the same board. In KeliMax you can play it two ways: a 1v1 word duel against a matched opponent or a friend on a 15×15 board, or as part of a Word Club, where every game you finish adds points to your club and your club takes on another club in a three-day Club War that starts every Monday. This guide walks you through both.
How does a 1v1 word battle work?
In a 1v1 game you and your opponent take turns placing words on the board. Every letter has a point value, and whoever makes better use of the letter and word multiplier squares pulls ahead. Words are checked against the game's dictionary: 267,751 words are valid in English games and 64,656 in Turkish games. When the game ends, the higher score wins, so every move is a chance both to score and to keep the best squares away from your opponent. Letter values and how multipliers are scored
You choose the pace. In the default mode you get 24 hours per move, so you can play whenever you have a moment and keep several games going at once. If you want a faster duel, pick the 1-hour mode, Blitz with 2 minutes per move, or a 5-Round Fast game where each player makes five moves. Some of the faster modes cost coins that you earn by playing.
To keep online games fair for everyone, suspicious games are reviewed automatically and players can report anything that looks wrong. More on that here: KeliMax's approach to fair play
Ranked League and Weekly League: every game counts
Leagues are what turn single games into a real word battle. Online 1v1 games win or lose you trophies in the Ranked League. As your trophies grow, you climb through six tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Legend and Grand Master. A season lasts 60 days; when a new one starts, your trophies are adjusted for the new season and the race begins again. The Ranked League unlocks at level 4 with a registered account.
The Weekly League is a shorter sprint: during a week you have joined, your 1v1 games earn you points and you are ranked in a group with players from the same league tier. Wins add points, losses take some away. The week closes every Monday; players near the top move up a league and players near the bottom move down.

Word Clubs: the team side of the word battle
The second half of the word battle is team play. Word Clubs, KeliMax's take on clans, are communities of up to 20 members, and a player can belong to only one club at a time. Once you join, you can talk with members in the club chat, work on three club quests that refresh every week, and earn bonus XP from your games. Each club has a Leader, Co-Leaders and Members, and the Leader runs the club.
A club's strength comes from the games its members play. Every online 1v1 game you finish adds contribution points to your club: at normal pace a win is worth 10 points and a draw or loss 3. Faster modes such as 1-hour, Blitz and 5-Round give less. So even a game you lose still helps your club. These points raise your club's level and add to its weekly score.
The club rankings list clubs by the points they have collected that week; you can see where your club stands on the Rankings tab. There is a race inside the club too: the three members who contribute the most each week earn rewards. Weekly points reset every Monday at 00:00 UTC.
How do Club Wars work?
A Club War is a three-day points race between your club and another club. New wars start every Monday: clubs with at least 3 members are matched with a suitable club. There is no special war game; while the war is on, the contribution points from your members' 1v1 games are added to your club's war score.
- The Club War screen shows both clubs' scores and the time left.
- After three days the club with the higher score wins; if the scores are level, the war ends in a draw.
- When the war is over, club members collect their rewards, based on the result, with the Claim Reward button on the Club War screen.
- You get a notification when a war starts and when it ends; past wars are kept in War History.
There is competition inside the club as well: the Mini Tournament. The Leader or a Co-Leader opens a tournament, the members who join play 1v1 knockout games against each other, and each winner moves on to the next round. The tournament starts when it fills up or when the Leader starts it, and whoever wins the final becomes club champion. Club members can watch ongoing tournament games, so there is always something happening in the club, even between wars.
How to join a club or start your own
Word Clubs unlock at level 4 with a registered account. After that it only takes a few steps:
- Open Compete from the bottom menu and tap the Word Club card.
- Browse the public clubs or search for one by name; tap a club to see its members and their weekly contributions.
- Tap Join on the club you like. To get into a private club, use Join by Code with the 6-character invite code a friend shares with you.
- To start your own club, choose Create Club: pick a name of up to 20 characters, a short description and an emblem, and decide whether anyone can join or only people with the code. Creating a club costs coins; the app shows the current price.
- Share the invite code with friends, make members you trust Co-Leaders, and get your club ready for its first war: you need at least 3 members to be matched.
Frequently asked questions
Is the word battle game free to play?
Yes. Downloading KeliMax and playing 24-hour 1v1 games is free. Some faster modes cost coins that you earn by playing, and in-app purchases are optional.
Do I need to play special games for a Club War?
No. While the war is on, the contribution points from the online 1v1 games you finish as a club member go straight to your club's war score. There is no separate war game or sign-up step.
What level do I need to join a club?
Word Clubs unlock at level 4 with a registered account. Some clubs may ask for a higher level; the club's Leader sets that. You cannot join a club that is already full (20 members).
When does a Club War start and how long does it last?
New wars start every Monday at 00:00 UTC and last three days. Your club needs at least 3 members to be matched.
